Johnny Sonique
Salisbury, MA (United States)
Genres:
Pop / Experimental
Johnny Sonique is a combination of "unique" + "sound" and pronounced "sonic". I am a BMI affiliated, owner/operator of Sonic Soup Studio, a small digital music and graphics studio where I stir up a recipe of pop and electronic music.
I do everything under the sun! My main responsibility is making sure the finished product is as topnotch as I can make it with the recording and sound tools I have. I'm always trying to upgrade the equipment and software.
I find myself wearing many hats - songwriter, producer, arranger, graphic designer, engineer, repairman, web designer. I'm crazy about new gear and strange sounds.
I'm originally from Southern California but have been settled in New England for about 15 years. I live in a great two story house where I can make all the noise, uh... music, I need .
I've been interested in music since the Beatles first came over and have worked with multitrack audio since the middle 70's. I have acquired an amazing amount of equipment with which to stretch, bend and warp sounds. I love to mix styles, sounds, and textures to come up with something original. I'm not anywhere near being a purist when it comes to genres. I like to take a pop feel (for the flow) and introduce different sonic elements into it (for interest and uniqueness). I plan to experiment more with synth and dance beats in the future.
My songs are represented on: Backstage Commerce, Amazon, Peacework Music, Want2BDiscovered, Sonic Soup Music, Blast My Music, Create Space, Indie Charts, Myspace, Pure Volume, CD Baby, Facebook and many others.
I also put together CD album package one-offs for songwriters who want to show and shop their demos or finished songs. I create the graphics, sequence and "lite"-master the songs, make the book, label, and tray, and record a CDR.
Aside from the obvious musical interests I collect books by and about Stephen King and get in the wind on my 60's style Harley Lowrider to air out the cobwebs in my brain...
